El Ten Eleven is a Los Angeles, CA post-rock duo known for combining guitar/bass doubleneck or
fretless bass, with heavy looping, or vamping, and the utility of an effects pedal, over acoustic
or electric drumming. They have released three full length albums, earning generally positive
reviews. The band has earned some attention due to many of their songs being featured in the
soundtracks of Gary Hustwit's design documentaries Helvetica and Objectified.

Dosh
Martin Luther King Chavez Dosh, known in music as Dosh, is a musician and multi-instrumentalist
based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As an artist, Dosh is a percussionist who uses various
electronics, often with a Fender Rhodes. Dosh has been characterized mostly as experimental
and electronic-based due to his use of many samplers and looping machines and the rhythmic
feel of much of his music, with songs often relying on Dosh alone on keyboards, marimba, and
drums. Dosh is often in collaboration with other musicians during live sets and on recording.

Baths
For mercurial L.A. music-maker Will Wiesenfeld, Baths has been a long time coming.
The 21-year-old has spent the better part of his days living amidst ÒpleasantÓ and
ÒunremarkableÓ in the suburbs of the San Fernando Valley, so perhaps itÕs due to a general
lack of local inspiration that WiesenfeldÕs own work has never fit into a prefab box of its own.
Over the last six years, under the handle of [Post-Foetus], Wiesenfeld has gainfully explored the
intersections and outer reaches of both electronic and acoustic music. With Baths, his eclecticism
finds its greatest focus yet, in a hail of lush melodies, ghostly choirs, playful instrumentation
and stuttering beats.

SWORN ENEMY are one of those few bands that can never be derailed, no matter how many obstacles
and hardships are thrown at them. They now return with their most uncompromising and vicious
offering yet, "Total World Domination", which perfectly blends the band's old-school, beat you
down hardcore style with a thrash metal infusion resulting in material that will tear your face
off.
The band spent the majority of 2008 touring the world with such acclaimed acts as Hatebreed,
Earth Crisis, Divine Heresy and Terror among countless others in support of their last effort,
"Maniacal", which was widely renowned as the group's best and heaviest offering yet.
Gloominous DoomThe Gloominous Doom's high-energy, genre-bending sonic assault and merciless
work ethic have earned them scores of fans along the East Coast, The boys have been hard at work
raisin' hell, keeping that buzz going with never-ending live dates and festival appearances.

Uz Jsme Doma
Thur, Sept 23rd
8PM / 21+ / $10 ($8ADV)

Uz Jsme Doma spent the first years of its existence in underground Czechoslovakia. After the
Velvet Revolution it was one of the first groups to storm out and establish an alternative rock
sound for the new republic. Along with Plastic People of the Universe they became ambassadors of
Central European rock, frequently touring the U.S. and establishing a cult following in America.
If the PPU embody the Communist repression of the 1970s and 1980s in their gloomy, despair-driven
music, then Uz Jsme Doma represents the exuberance of liberation. Punk in spirit, activists at
heart, and strongly avant-garde in their dissonances, complex songs, and humor, they are the Czech
Republic's best group of the 1990s. Jindra Dolansky (saxophone, vocals) started Uz Jsme Doma in
1985 in the border town of Teplice. The group's name comes from a Czech expression that loosely
translates into "now we're at home" (meaning "now I get it"). Stamped "antisocial" by the
Communist government, the group spent its first years playing illegal concerts, going through
numerous changes in their lineup, and writing an impressive repertoire of avant-punk songs
influenced by Pere Ubu, the Residents, the Sex Pistols, and the Rock-in-Opposition movement.
Kimono Draggin'
Kimono Draggin' is an experimental indie rock band formed in 2003 from New Haven, CT. Their
version of progressive rock is strongly influenced by bands of the 1970s and 1980s including The
Stooges, The Mothers of Invention, Talking Heads and Minutemen.

THE LIMIT are 3 really nice guys that like rock songs. They're quick
to tell a joke and make you smile when you don't feel so nice. They're
also very good listeners too. On off nights they like to take lovers out on dinner dates and to
watch the latest films at the local cinema. A lot of people think that
they are a nice band that plays upbeat rock music songs with class. I
concur this.

Bettie Serveert is an indie-rock band from The Netherlands. Their name, which translates to "Bettie serves," is taken from a series of tennis instructional books by Dutch tennis player
Betty Stove, who lost the Wimbledon Ladies singles final in 1977. Comprising vocalist Carol
Van Dijk (vocals), Peter Visser (guitar), Herman Bunskoeke (bass) and Berend Dubbe (drums)
they originally formed in 1986 as a side-project of De Artsen. After De Artsen split up in 1990,
Bettie Serveert became a full-time project. Bettie Serveert released their debut album "Palomine"
in 1992, which, fifteen years after its release, is still a modern indie rock classic,
wonderfully blending together influences of Velvet Underground and Neil Young with melancholic
lyrics, catchy tunes and a lo-fi-feel.

Fatal Film
"This is confident, boisterous, wild music with the gears of garage and '80s gnashing indie rock.
It's shot full of adrenalin energy, dirty, clashing riffing, feral but cool vocals by the great
Matt Potter EQed on stun, and a rocks-off buzzing smarts that makes you stop doing whatever your
attention-span-deficient multitasking self was and pay excited attention. This cooks, slams,
smacks, and kicks with all the danger, edge, and abandon you rarely see in such a tight band making
terrific use of complimenting guitar parts-often lead picking around each other in a mesmeric
post-Television mode. From "First Step" to "Hustlers Are We", you won't soon forget this
(shockingly) accurately titled "thrill'r" ride, and we aren't talking about Michael Jackson,
either." - The Big Takeover
Atrina
Atrina makes music that is equal parts minimalist melodicism, counterpunctal cacophony, and
decibel-pushing dissonance. Angular, but accessible. Complex, yet catchy. Eclectic, and
electrifying, Atrina sounds like they mean itÑwith an " earnestness matched by technical
expertise and solid songwriting, deep, heavy riffing, a brooding and moody sensibility. Singer
Kelly LÕHeureux sounds impassioned and entirely straightforward, her voice creating a compelling
push-and-pull between vocals and band." Effortlessly blending sharp melodies, dynamic guitar
rhythms and honest intensity, Atrina's sound harkens back to some of indie rock's greatestÑSonic
Youth, My Bloody Valentine, The Breeders, Blonde Redhead, Slint, Radiohead, HeliumÑwhile looking
forward to create a sound thatÕs all their own, as evidenced on their 2 self-released EPs,
including 2008's {beautiful evidence}.

Shonen Knife are a super influential all-female Japanese pop-punk band formed in Osaka, in 1981,
by sisters Naoko Yamano and Atsuko Yamano. The Ramones-loving, food obsessed trio (with Michie
Nakatani) effortlessly created kooky songs with upbeat infectious melodies and exuberant lyrics
often about sweets and animals. A twenty-seven-year career has seen them tour the world with
Nirvana (opening on the Nevermind tour), Sonic Youth, the BMX Bandits, and as part of the
travelling alternative rock festival Lollapolooza.

Screaming Females
Formed in 2006, New Jersey's Screaming Females combine scorching guitars with a firmly D.I.Y.
approach to create their own brand of indie rock. Mix equal parts Dinosaur Jr. and Sleater-Kinney,
the Brunswick trio strives to embody the spirit of indie rock in its purest form.
EULA
"Combining the quirky, awkward-but-sexy nature of CSS with a more defined loud-vs-soft side,
EULA is a fun new wave group from New Haven. Their music is packed with the loud, pointed guitar
riffs and rapid basslines that would make Northwest pseudo punk proud; think a blown out of
proportion and hyped-up Kill Rock Stars release." -FensePost
DARIK & THE FUNBAGS
Friday, October 1st8PM / 21+/ $8
They started playing Connecticut in 1997 and have since grown our territory faster than a
door-to-door Jehovah's Witness, with gigs in five New England States. Like the Big E, but
naughtier.
They play New York and New Jersey, too... But that doesn't seem to impress the puritans back
home. They have been featured on VH-1's Cover Wars, so you can see they have national exposure
too!
Although they like to think we they're too "bad ass" to be corporate darlings, they've
hit that circuit too... with appearances at the Greater Hartford Open Golf Tournament,
the Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament, The Major League LaCrosses National Championships, and
the Yale Bowl. The Ivy Leaguers love them.

Deerhoof
One of our favorite bands ever! Although typically classified as an indie rock band, due to their
having been on an indie rock label (Kill Rock Stars) for the entirety of their career, the
mercurial and unconventional nature of Deerhoof's music makes genre identification difficult,
and perhaps inappropriate. But several recurring features can be said to constitute Deerhoof's
distinctive sound: unassuming vocal delivery set against hyper-expressive instrumental playing;
an elastic approach to group dynamics and rhythm more akin to the rubato of classical music
performance practice than rock; odd yet highly memorable melodies; harmonic sophistication and
dissonance; disjointed, condensed, asymmetrical and otherwise unconventional song structures; raw
and at times strident sound surfaces; improvisation; and general creative restlessness.

Father Murphy is 3-piece experimental band from Italy. During live shows Chiara Lee, Vittorio and
Freddie work together to play toy instruments, or to play instruments as toys. While Vittorio plays
at the same time a kid-drumset and his old violin, Chiara puts together different sounds taken from
any kind of old chinese toys and italian keyboardsÉand Freddie? Freddie is actually a reverend who
sings a song from this world and the other one.

Acoustic Alchemy, featuring guitarists Greg Carmichael and Miles Gilderdale celebrate a remarkable
legacy. The road to instrumental stardom began in 1987 when Nick Webb and Greg Carmichael provided
the in-flight entertainment for a Virgin Airlines England to America flight, in search of an
elusive recording contract, literally playing their way to America. Acoustic Alchemy's legacy is
based on the extraordinary airplay and critical reception for the many early Webb and Carmichael
led recordings followed by those helmed later by Carmichael and Gilderdale, including the 2001
Grammy nominated "AArt".

..It all begins with the Beatles. The music they recorded. The influence they left behind.
One evening in March of 2006, Tim Palmieri and Sean Miller were playing music together. Sean
was showing Tim how to play "Dear Prudence" when the two musicians thought, "What if two people
tried to play every Beatles song that was recorded alphabetically from A to Z?"
Thus became the concept of The Beatles A-Z project. The two musicians have been influenced by
The Beatles since first being introduced to the music at an early age, which contributed to their
vast knowledge of the music, lyrics and the nuances you hear in the original recordings.
Their role in presenting this project is to perform each song just as the original recordings
were recorded; all the while making each song their own. Another purpose for presenting this,
that Tim and Sean both agreed upon, is to share their enthusiasm and passion of the Fab Four.
